My mom always made pizza burgers.
first you have to fry ground beef. drain the grease out. then add in some spaghetti sauce, and continue heating it.
then take a regular hamburger bun, and use halves.
top the flat part of the bun with a spoonful of groundbeef/sauce mixture.
then sprinkle it with shredded mozzerella cheese.
and bake them on 450, for idk around 7 minutes. until the bun is a very light brown, and the cheese is melted.
serve it with some fresh sliced veggies and voila. a perfect fun dinner

Another easy weekend recipe: any pasta, fresh green veggie, cut up ham, creamy pesto or other packaged sauce mix. We don't tolerate lactose so I use lactose-free milk in the packaged sauces and you can't tell the difference. With breadsticks this was a great easy dinner.

Another quick and easy recipe is French bread pizza. I slice a loaf of French bread lengthwise and spread on top a small can of Hunts tomato sauce (8 oz). I then top it with shredded Mozzarella cheese and bake till crispy. If I have an other toppings available like pepperoni, salami etc. I chop it up and put it on top of the Mozzarella before baking. Yummy.

Weekend "Asian" Steaks family will devour

Mix: A1 + Teryiaki sauce+ Garlic Powder + Oregano (dried) and marinate steaks overnight, or at least an hour and a half. So damn good, enhances steak flavor perfectly. This is a spin off of a recipe from one of the kraft recipe magazines. I didnt have any balsamic vinagrette so I substituted it with Teryaki sauce. You can do an asian spin-off with this meal. Grill pineapple and onion slices with the steaks, make a side of rice, and mini veggie egg rolls from the freezer aisle to complete the asian "theme". Tell me if you like this ladies

I tell ya what, you guys should try Pita Pizzas!
It's all about the pita which tastes so much better that pizza dough or any other sub like bagels and so on.
Use white or wheat. (We use whole wheat)
These are so good and no joke, you'll never want take out pizza again!
Fast-Easy-and the possibilities are endless!
I use crushed roma toms{canned} and add lots of garlic-oregano-basil-fresh cracked black pepper.
Once it comes to a heavy simmer - cut down to low.
I taste test and add more of each spice. After that it is perfect..
Keep on low with lid while working on everything else.
I take 1 green bell pepper and 1 small yellow onion and chop them both chunky. {You'll have plenty of leftovers for the next time.}
I drizzle a small skillet w/ex-virg-olive oil and lightly cook the veggies. (1-2 mins.) I sprinkle in a nice amount of garlic powder on them as well.
They still have their great color.
We like Turkey pepperoni and Canadian bacon as the meat toppings.
I use the Whole wheat Pita Rounds and super lightly spray with ex-vir-olive oil spray and layer:
Sauce onions/bell peppers 1 oz. mozz cheese meat 1 oz. mozz cheese
Bake at *325 until cheese melts and very lightly browned.
Your eyes will tell you 1 will not be enough.
OMG it will! These lil babies are filling and super yummo!
I make a nice side salad and that's all you need.
They will be low cal as long as you don't go wild with toppings/gobs of cheese. (for those on diets)
These are a staple in our home..
I keep pita rounds in the freezer - keep crushed toms on hand and everything else you need all the time!
Takes 7-8 mins. prep time including gettin' the sauce going.
Takes less than 20 mins total!
You can use/make any toppings you like.
This meal is great for company/pizza parties!

My daughter is having a sleepover for her 10th (double-digits) birthday this weekend. We are actually going the homemade pizza thing with Hoagie rolls. The kids will have all the ingredients in bowls and each one can create their own pizza. We did it last week for dinner and my kids 9, 7, and 3 all made their own and absolutely loved them!!

When my oldest daughter turned 6 had a Strawberry Shortcake Cooking Party and we made the mini pizzas from english muffins, and then we made strawberry shortcakes (of course) using the little cake round things and frozen strawberries. The parents could not believe that I let the kids cook. It was so simple, I put all the ingredients in a bowl, added a spoon, put down a throw away table cloth and they had a blast! My mom would always let us make our own Pizza Bread, using french bread or even hoggie rolls. I did it recently with my girls and they loved it. I love to involve my kids in cooking.

Glad the boys liked them. The dessert pizza idea is a good one too. I wonder what would have happened if you put a hershey kiss in the center of the biscuit and covered it with another one? Another thing I like to do w/them is deep fry them like a doughnut and roll in sugar. Don't make them very often but boy are they good. I have a speedy cinnamon roll recipe that I use them with too that I'll have to dig out. My boys love them!

My Mom used to make the mini pizzas with biscuit dough when we were young. I think I'll revive that idea this weekend as well. I've had pita bread on hand before and made my daughter a cheese pizza using Colavita's marinara and provolone cheese - she loved it.

I did the biscuit thing Friday when my youngest had friends over. They had too much fun doing their own pizzas, as they always do, but this time it was much easier 'cos the clean-up was almost nonexistant. I then took some of the biscuits, squished them flat, and baked them as dessert pizzas. Once those cooled the boys topped them with frosting, m&m's, fruit, whatever. Not at all healthy but a great treat.

when i was a kid, we used english muffins all of the time for mini pizzas after school. lol...mom would get so mad at us because my sis and i would stuff ourselves before dinner...well, it was her idea..... never thought of biscuits as a crust. will have to try that one out when i need a good "cabinet meal". thought that it would be too buttery, but since i have read no negative remarks about it, i will give it a try. thanks for the idea!!
