Obviously I cannot make this as written but I will suggest to the lunchroom manager at my children's school that she try this with only tuna. Children like tuna melts, and on milchig days this would be fun for them, I think.
I might recommend that instead of cream of mushroom soup she substitute something different, though, since the canned soups are usually not very nutritive and the children can certainly only benefit from added nutrition. Perhaps I'll suggest a light cheese sauce instead. D.Kay, have you tried variants on the soup with this?

I am really glad you liked them jen3314!
I am surprised you liked them without the soup because I think that's the best part of the recipe. I do know what you mean about Miracle Whip -- sometimes it is a bit tangy. In fact, my husband prefers regular mayo.

I've never seen canned chicken. Where would I find it?
Also, this sounds like a tuna melt except you add soup and olives and chicken. So it's more amalgamated. Sounds interesting. Maybe I'll try it with low fat and low sodium soup and other ingredients.

I made these today and everyone didn't love them.
Maybe because today was Monday? I might try them again on Saturday and see if we love them then.
