Try brushing olive oil on the bread instead of using butter. It grills up nicely, is better for your heart, and tastes great.

The best grilled cheese are made with a slice of colby cheese and a slice of provolone. Of course my favorite cheese. But you can use your favorite cheese and it makes a much better sandwich than just regular cheese slices. It gives it that zip everyone is looking for.

I have been known to take it even a little further and use tortilla chips. You can make a great dip out of a can of condensed cheese soup!

While this topic may be about new ways to have a grilled cheese, why not take the guess work out of all of these ideas (except the miracle whip one...) why not make it into a quesadilla? The flour tortillas are not as hearty as the bread, so more flavors are encouraged. There are way more options, you can throw ANYTHING (well, almost) in it and it tastes great with a few less carbs. Plus, the kids may find it more exciting than the standard grilled cheese. Plus you can use your leftover wraps for other sandwiches, breakfast burritos, or place them individually in jumbo cupcake pans and make taco cups.

I got some powdered chipotle from Penzey's spices. It is really good for those times when you need a bit of something, but a whole chipotle would be too much. We really love the smokey taste of chipotles, and we like stuff fiery-hot.
What a gr8 idea! I usually open a small can of chipotles en adobo and then wonder what the heck to do with the rest of the can. (I do sometimes freeze it in 1 tbsp. increments after chopping all the contents together - but your way sounds much easier!)

I bet Marie was into it, which is what ticked old Verleen off to begin with!

But what about Marie? Is it okay with her? I would be uncomfortable if my friend sent her husband shopping with me and he sampled my dressing.
