Ooo, this is quite an old thread being resurrected, but yes, I'm curious to see your results as well.
You started off with a great plan and weren't afraid to make changes, like to your exercise routine, when you realized you may have started too hard. That takes courage, since many people would be discouraged.
Good work and I hope the past eight months have been good to you and your plan!

Misty, do 3 - ten minute increments on the treadmill per day. Morning, afternoon and early evening. Nobody says it has to be 30 minutes all at one time.

My journey is going well. I have been following my plan for the most part, and have seen results, already. There are 2 things that I am going to change about my plan for this week. First, I am going to switch my plan around a bit to use what I already have, rather than buying all new stuff, that I am only going to use a little of. I am going to try to incorperate the dinners in with what my family is having. Second, I am going to down scale the excersice. I need to start off smaller, I am terribly out of shape. 30 minutes on my treadmill is to much right now. I am going to reduce it to 15, and work up from there. I am happy. Misty

Thank you for the advice. I need to ask the waitress to pack up 1/2 it is smart! Today went well. I was at the hospital, and hungry by the time lunch rolled around. The Tomato-Black bean soup was awesome! I weighed myself this am, and I am 294. I know it is all water int eh beginning, but I am happy! That is 5 lbs I will never see again!

Misty - Keep up the good work. I have used meal plans (though haven't gotten around to using Kraft's) while trying to loose weight and it really takes the guess work out of "what am I hungry for." Carry your own "convience foods." Portion out pretzles, baked chips, grapes, etc into the snack size baggies. When your hungry just grab one. No guessing on amounts or chowing down the whole bag.
If going out to eat w/friends where I know I will be faced w/great temptation to fall off my diet I eat 1/2 a whole wheat bagel w/low fat cream cheese, or some fresh veggies or something else that is low cal and filling so when I'm looking at all the high calorie foods on the menu I'm not starving. The idea of asking for 1/2 of your food to be boxed up right away is a great one. I felt dumb doing it the first time but then realized that it is a great way to "have your cake and eat it too" plus it is cheaper b/c you are getting 2 meals for the price of one. Good luck!

Today went ok. I followed my plan, but when I went to my girlfriends house hse made lunch for us, and I had mine with me. It is times like these that I need to work on my flexibility. I had eaten my eggsalad sandwich, it was fab. But, when I sat there with my college friends, I decided to eat what my friend had made as well. Probably not the best choice, but it is what it is. I decided to forgo the pasta that was planned for dinner, and the dessert for this evening. I haven't done the yoga yet... but I will before bedtime. Thanks for your encouragement everyone. Have any of you found success with the meal plan? Doc-Wow, What a piece of work. Doc. I wish you the best life has to offer. A big hug to you.. It seems you need one

Misty Armenti's weight loss journey

I have decided that I am going to follow the Healthy Living Weekly Plan. I am going to see what happens. I am going to put forth my best effort to follow the plan exactly as it is put before me. I love this site, I have made awesome meals from these easy recipes, I have gotten great advice from the message boards, I figure.. What the heck. So I have printed of the weekly plan, plus one "One bag 5 nights” I made a few changes to my plan, to make my week easier. I used the vegetarian meal plan. I switched a few meals around so that I used the same lunch 3 times, same dinner 3 times. This way I can make in bulk and then use it when I need. I went shopping yesterday, and started today. I am excited. I deserve this. By signing on to this message board I am working my accountability. I am going to try to write an update as often as possible to see where I am, and how it is going. So, here I am today. 5'11", 299lbs, and ready for a change. I made my Tomato-Black Bean and Barley Soup , enough for 3 lunches, and my Eggplant Parmesan with Pasta , enough for 3 dinners. As a mother, wife, full time student, and active community member, I need to cut a few corners here and there. I also am committing to the activity. I have walked on my treadmill for 30 minutes, and wore a pedometer all day so far. Small steps, they truly are the greatest ones. I am off… Misty
