Most of the recipes here are NOT good for those of us who are trying to lose weight or trying to keep a normal blood pressure.

Some of the Healthy Living recipes are ok, though.

We have been asking Kraft for more healthy recipes but they haven't tolled us anything yet.

Hi everybody, I am also a new one here, hope to learn from you and maybe sometimes be able to have some advise for others.
I think that most of the recipes here cannot help us w the weight and sometimes we have to watch our food choices for us and for our kids, but w some creativity and inspiration from each's experience, maybe we can come up w some ideas.

I am also new to this board and have to say it's nice to see people being nice. I had belonged to weight watchers online and some members would chastise you in a very rude way and insult you if you were a newbie and asked a question.

I try to watch what I eat as well, some suggestions for making healthier decisions...
after all, we eat to live, not live to eat, right?
I keep raw almonds (or walnuts, pecans) in my desk drawer/coat pocket (if in a meeting) to curb my appetite. The (healthy) fat in the nuts will make you feel full and give you an opportunity to make a healthy decision on what you will eat for your next meal. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I eat a teaspoon of honey (also kept in my desk drawer for sweetening hot tea, instead of coffee). Yummy! Think of eating foods as close to their natural state as you can get them and they will be best for you...as in raw fruits, vegs...etc. Exercise, in whatever consistent way, and looking toward eventually improving, is best. Also, it's best not to try to think of how much weight you'll be losing by 2 months from now, or whatever...make your goal 1 year from now. Be realistic and be consistent. You will realize a lot of health benefits! You didn't get where you are in a month...it will take longer than month to get back. But it'll happen. Trust me!

Most of the recipes here are not that good for losing weight or limiting sodium and potassium.

Sorry.

To maintain just stay within the calories recommended. Drink plenty of water, exercise 30 min. a day

Hi,
I always heard that a woman should consume 1200 -1400 calories per day for weight loss. Anything less and your body goes into starvation mode. Can't have that! :)
Good luck to you! Weight Watchers is working for me, but slowly very slowly. Averaging about a pound a week.

Hi, first time to board. My husband has to stay off of high potassium foods because of a kidney problem. Any suggestions for recipes.

Who is they, and why would they tell you not to mention diabetes?

I thought health professionals said that a 1000 calorie diet was not healthy?
