Hi! I have the same "problem" with my hubby. Here are a few things I pack that he enjoys: 1.) Tortilla Pinwheels (cream cheese, lunchmeat, lettuce, diced peppers etc., shredded cheese) 2.) Tuna Salad with large wheat crackers 3.) Chicken Salad with large wheat crackers (I put grapes and pecans in my salad...it is yummy!) 4.) Egg Salad (still a sandwich, not the norm at least) 5.) Cucumber mini sandwiches, like tea triangles...I use cream cheese, dill weed, garlic powder and Thin sliced cucs. 6.) BBQ Chicken salad....just mixed greens with leftover bbq chicken from the night before, but I also add cheddar cheese cubes, tomatoes and green onions. HTH! ~Steph~

Cold pasta with pesto (purchased in the refrigerated section of the grocery) is yummy, add some leftover grilled chicken or shrimp.
I've made a curried rice salad with Uncle Bens rice (has artichokes and olives in it) that you could add chicken to.
Non traditional potato salad (instead of mayo, tarragon vinegar and olive oil work very well), with leftover fried chicken.
This makes me want to get in the kitchen and make some of these things.
Good Luck. Let us know what you are making for the boyfriend.

> How about quiche? That's good cold.
thats a great idea. i love quiche. biscuit had an idea about soup or pasta in a thermous which is an excellent idea. and it brought me to think about gazpacho. (sp?) its a cold tomato based soup with lots of summer veggies. its almost like a salsa, but its not if you catch my drift. that with the idea of quiche and some good bread would make a great lunch. kind of fancy dancy too.
i know that you mentioned that he is tired of sandwiches. i know that this is similar, but, what about a wrap? i like chicken salad on a whole wheat tortilla or a pita. and while i am at it, what about a gyro? theyre great cold. if you cannot get lamb, use ground or shredded beef.

Buy a small wide-mouth thermos and put some soup it it. Do you suppose you could heat some pasta and place it in the thermos? Would imagine it would stay hot just like the soup would.

I can think of any number of salads that should work: chef salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, caesar salad with grilled chicken, cold antipasto, etc. Many people eat chicken cold, so you could give him pieces of roasted or fried chicken. A variety of fruits and cheeses with crackers ...

Hey everyone, I need some help (again!)
I pack a lunch everyday for my boyfriend, who works lengthy shifts and has a lunch "bag" that is insulated. I add the "fake ice" containers to keep stuff cool. Anyways, I usually make him sub sandwhiches and pb and j sandwhiches, and throw in some chips, cookies, fruit, etc.
Well, the other day he told me how sick he was of sandwhiches. I tried making stirfry and putting it in a container to reheat, but he told me he doesn't have enough time to run down to the other end of the plant to reheat.
So my question is: What can I pack in his lunch that is NOT a sandwhich and can be eating cold or at room temp and still be good....
any suggestions would be helpful! thanks!
