Thanks for the advice. I'll try contacting them to see if they'll share. Their site is www.cherryrepublic.com. They do sell and ship all kinds of stuff with cherries in it and I wrote down the ingred (tomato, cherry, onion, jalapeno pepper, peppers, sugar, tomato paste, vinegar, citric acid, garlic, spices). I'm just not too good at making up recipes and have a limited supply of cherries to play around with - the crop wasn't too good in MI this year. It may come down to me playing around, I was just hoping there was a recipe somewhere I could follow...

have you tried contacting the store for the recipe? in most cases, they probably wouldnt give it out, though... would they ship it? if you saw the ingredient list, then maybe you could make your own version. you never know what you could come up with. do you have the site?

I tried some a friend had bought from Cherry Republic in Traverse City, Michigan. I then bought a jar of my own in Shipshewana, Indiana from an Amish store. It's really quite good - served cold just as other salsas, stored in a jar, served with tortilla chips. I suppose it could be used in other recipes as well. Both jars listed tomatoes as an ingredient along with other basic salsa ingredients and cherries.
I have a few canning /freezing/preserving books and cannot find a recipe in any of them. I've also looked through a few family cookbooks as well as an Amish cookbook with no luck I've even tried looking for the recipe on Cherry Republic's site.
There must be a recipe for it somewhere for me to have eaten two different jars of it - I am just at a loss as to where :~

I'm with you, honkytonk. I'm a medical transcriptionist and, therefore, an expert Googler, and I have yet to find even ONE recipe with both tomatoes & cherries.
Give us the links - pleeease!

If my "ignorance" is annoying to you, I don't want your help. I am not sure what is so angering to you about my question. All I know is that when I search for "Cherry Tomato Salsa", "Salsa with Cherries and Tomatoes", "Tomato Salsa with Cherries" and similar I do not find recipes that have both cherries and tomatoes in them. I can only find one or the other, not a recipe with both. I want a recipe that is for Cherry Salsa with tomatoes as an ingredient as well as cherries. I simply wish to have you post links to some of the sites you are finding these recipes that I cannot so I can stop bothering you. For all those who are trying to help, I truly do appreciate it.

The fact that you want a recipe with both cherries and tomatoes is very clear. It's everything else you said that is not.
You first said you could only find recipes with cherry tomatoes -- but not cherries . Then you contradicted yourself and said you could find lots of recipes using cherries -- but not tomatoes.
This is not rocket science. It's a simple Google search. In 2 or 3 minutes I scrolled through a dozen plus recipes and at least three used both cherries and tomatoes. One caled for yellow tomatoes.
Or (also not rocket science) if you did find recipes that used cherries, you could simply add tomatoes to it. How simple is that?
