1/2 C ketchup, 1/2 C Wishbone Italian dressing, 1/2 C Classic Coke - (about 2 lbs. tips). It makes a qualitative difference to marinate overnight.

Personally, Jen, I prefer less cooking time, but the guys here like it better done. With thick enough tips, they still stay tender and pink in the middle. And the marinade does wonders.

I've never tried it, but I bet my kid would taste the difference and would berate me. If you're devious enough, I would give it a try. Do report.

My contact grill is Hamilton Beach, but that's an aside. Last week I made incredible steak tips. I marinaded them in 1/2 C ketchup, 1/2 C Wishbone Italian dressing, 1/2 C Classic Coke - overnight (about 2 lbs. tips). They were on the grill 6-7 minutes for medium rare, and cooked on both sides at the same time.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was about to give mine to my brother Cletus. He needs a new spittoon. ;)

the plastic thing is a scraper to help you clean off the grease and whatever is left on the grill when you are finished cooking. and it does cook on both sides. no flipping is needed. i love mine. i even make panini sandwiches on it. or even grilled cheese. i make alot of things on it.

it does cook on both sides.... the plastic thingy is to remove you items from theh grill and also to clean the grill... note the ridges on the scraper.............

Good Idea. I'd return it if I were you!

Maybe exchange it for a normal grill pan or crock pot.

It doesn't cook on both sides? Can you say "junk in the trunk?"

What's the point then? If the lid doesn't do anything why not use a grill pan? Cheaper and seemingly easier.

It does not always cook both sides of the pork chops and steaks this is why you flip them. Besides why do you think a plastic flipper is given to you in the box with the George Foreman Grill.

Why do you need to flip anything in a George Foreman Grill? It cooks both sides at once!

This is very confusing.
