Hi ariseman,

As others have suggested, it's probably best to ask the local pizza shop what marinade is used as it's possible that things we may suggest would taste different. Here's a recipe for cola marinated pork, you could substitue the pork for chicken. Make sure to modify the cooking time as well!

You could always experiment too! Mix your favorite cola with herbs, spices and italian dressing, marinate the chicken, cook on the grill and give it a try. You may find that you like your own recipe better than the pizza shop's!

Asking for cooking and recipe suggestions here is always welcomed. B-)

wow, looks like the swiffers ripped through here! I'm with kopperhead, best just to ask. At least you would know if they get it from a food supplier or if they make it themselves.

Mine was too. And I am getting pretty sick of them doing that.

I was the first to reply to him. I said:

Why don't you just ask them?

There are a million pizza places around and they all do things differently, so askinghere isn't likely to get the right answer for you.

I agree with other posts, ask!!!

My local pizzeria has the best salads!! Every time I go that's what I get!!! Many pizza can be topped with roasted pesto chicken or roasted pesto shrimp. It is delicious and slightly sweet. After getting it a couple times and not really seeing pesto on the chicken or shrimp, I had to ask. As it happens the meat is "cold marinated" with some of the ingredients used to make pesto - parmesan, basil, olive oil, and garlic. The garlic is roasted hence the "roasted" and sweet flavor. Delicious and probably easy to replicate at home, though I haven't tried yet!

I agree. I think that I would ask for the manager. I know there is a chicken and turkey here in southern IN that is great. We get it from our local meat locker. I asked them if I could get some to take out of state w/ me and they told me they make it themselves. So.... never hurts to ask.

I'm sometimes very brazen about these things, but I would call your pizza place, ask for the manager and gush about the chicken. Ask if they marinate the chicken there or buy it that way and maybe he or she will know the secret.

Ok, I wasn't sure how to title this one.
When you go to the local pizza shop and order a tossed salad with chicken in it, the chicken kabobs seem to be marinated in something that is really yummy, but I can't figure out exactly what it is, or if they buy it already marinated from their food distributor.

someone told me they thought it was a combination of cola and italian dressiing, but that wasn't it. I know soy sauce and italian dressing makes an amazing marinade for wings.

so, does anyone happen to know what the pizza shop chicken kabobs are marinaded in ?

thanks
