My grocery store sells them with the biscuits in the tube. Good Luck!

If you can't find true ladyfingers or Savoirdi biscuits, sub Stella D'Oro Anisette Toast. Delish!

They should probably be batter dipped first, maybe take a nice boxed cake mix and add in some flavored coffee creamer. That would be lovely!!

My Wal-Mart sells the spongy ones near the fresh baked goods section

Hope it helps,
:)

If you can't find lady fingers, you can use pound cake or sponge cake cut into strips the size of lady fingers. Try using chocolate or mocha flavored cake for variety. And, yes, I dip my cake strips in coffee with hazelnut flavored nondairy coffee creamer in it.

I only use twinkies or yodels when I'm doing a stacked birthday cake. Never for tiramisu.

There are a couple of different types. The ones that are really spongy or the ones that have a bit more hardness to them. I prefer those. If use the ones that are made like a sponge cake, you have to be careful not to soak them in the liquer too long, lest they become soggy. I like using biscotti myself. As the tiramisu sits, they soften up and hold their shape.

Tiramisu is traditionally an Italian desert. Perhaps deep frying the twinkies would be reminiscent of the fried ice cream desert I enjoy while dining at Casa Bonita. Thanks for a wonderful idea Chef Caine!

Twinkies dipped in coffee/coffee liqueur make an excellent substitution.

Are there any Italian delis in Texas, near Dallas? An Italian deli would probably have ladyfingers.

Cookie aisle...or perhaps you could ask someone that works there that is more familiar with the building.
