These are REALLY good!

Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches

1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. chopped almonds
1 8oz. cream cheese (room temp)
2 TBSP. orange marmalade
1 1/2 tsp. curry
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 c. diced cooked chicken
pumpernickel, wheat, or white bread slices
3 TBSP. green onion

1. Bake coconut and almonds in shallow baking pan 5-10 minutes until toasted.

2. Combine cream cheese with next 4 ingredients, then add the chicken.

3. Toast bread, garnish with green onion if desired.

One of the most beautiful, edible recipes for such an occasion would be 'chocolate covered strawberries'. They are so easy to make and look beautiful on a table.

Whenever I go a shower, I make sure to bring a show stopping jello mold. This one might work for you...

I love the idea!!

If you could find a cookie cutter in the shape of a teapot, you could make tea cakes in the shape of teapots.

A dessert shower was given for me when I was pregnant and besides the desserts, the hostess made finger sandwiches with non-meat fillings. I think I remember one filling being an olive/nut mixture with mayo. I think she used whole wheat bread for those. It doesn't sound great, but it was very good.

Another filling to use in place of meat on finger sandwiches is the spinach dip recipe on the back of the Knorr Dry Vegetable Soup Mix.

Hi, That dose sound 'Great", a very luck granddaughter. Is it a wedding cake that your not having or no cake at all? I was thinking of bakeing several flavors of cake ,in sheet cake form and using cookie cutters to cut out different shapes. Then having several fruit toppings plus choclate ( gotta have chocolate:-x) so each guest can put the topping of thier choice on it. This would also work with ice cream. Lots of luck and let us know what you done:-D. annaskf

Wedding shower

Posted: Nov 7, 2007 8:12 AM
My granddaughter is getting married next June. I am planning an Old fashion Tea shower. I am thinking about having a dessert bar and tea sandwiches. No cake! My favors would be tea cups with flavored teas in it. Mints on the table along with tea pots with plants in them for center pieces and they would be the door prizes. Does this seem like I am over doing it? Any suggestions for the desserrt bar would be appreciated.
