i think that she means that you should lay out the texas toast with out cooking it first, tesas toast is just a thinker cut of bread you can buy in the store.

This sounds intriguing Jen I'd like to try it! Can you post a recipe of how to make uncooked toast though? I'm not quite sure how. Thank you!

btw, you posted that your husband just got out of the clink. try some good ole soul food. take it easy on the spices as his stomach may not adhere to them quite so soon. how bout some fried chicken and mashed pots , green beans and biscuits? add in seasoning as he readjusts. hope this helps. -j

Thanks for your recipe suggestion jen3314!

For the scrambled eggs, I just cut up a few little squares of philly (I use the brick) and add them immediately to my skillet with the beaten eggs. Then I just stir it in as I'm cooking the eggs and it melts. If you try it, let me know what you think!

how about a breakfast casserole. you need to prepare this the night before, so the eggs and bread will set. i make this in an 8x8 gladd baking dish. -night before... brown 1/2 lb sausage (any type you prefer...i use a sundried tomato and basil chicken sausage) drain sausage. set asside. sautee 1/2 cup each bell pepper(any color) and onion with 1clove minced garlic. set asside. in a 8x8 inch pan, spray with pam, and fit pieces of garlic butter texas toast(you can buy this at the store) you may need to trim some pieces. you want to completely cover the bottom of the pan with the UNCOOKED toast. beat 6-8 eggs (depending on size) with a 1/4 cup milk, salt and pepper and dried rosemary to taste. pour egg mixture over bread, add a layer of shredded parm cheese. spoon sausage and veggies over cheese. add another layer of cheese. ( i like to use sharp white cheddar in this layer of cheese) cover and put in fridge over night. next morning, bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until eggs are set and cheese is melted. if you want, add another layer of cheese 5 minutes before baking time os complete. enjoy!!

Thanks to all for their great suggestions and recipes - I'm going to give it a try!
> What veggie/meat and cheese > combos do you like to use?
One last question - do you think cream cheese would work? (I never make scambled eggs without it!)
