My last jar of Postum was at half-full (I keep a half-dozen or so at work and home) and I went to the store to get more. What?!! No more Postum?!! I was already paying $5 per 8 oz. jar and would CHEERFULLY pay twice that much. I have been drinking it for almost 30 years, loved especially the "coffee-flavored" variety, and I just cannot believe it is gone. If it had been actively marketed, I'm sure that there would be much more sold. Please, please, please ... bring Postum back.

I'm definitely a Postum lover, but try googling "Postum" and "acrylamide". It isn't as wholesome as we thought, and that's why it's gone and not coming back. Not that it's Postum's fault, all the coffee substitutes produced this way probably contain high levels of this carcinogen.

Look if you cannot produce Postum as it was; make it as you are allowed. There is no reason to completely discontinue this product there are so many that love it. Change the way you make it, process it or something. Either you do it or someone else will.... I'd rather see it from you.

If Kraft execs would LOOK on ebay you would see that Postum is selling for $80 per jar. $80 PER JAR! There is a strong demand out here. Why dont you raise the price and limit your production and still make some money? I will be one of the first ones to pay up to $25 per jar and purchase a case also. If you dont want to manufacture it any more, give us the recipe. PLEASE!

I recently developed high blood pressure and decided to convert to Postum from coffee even though I am a long standing coffee addict. Today I discovered it isn't available.

I for one think it is the best coffee substitute and provides a healthy alternative. With so much being said about the high costs of health issues in the country, Postum should be repackaged and promoted for its health import.

If it is really such a corporate dog with no future, please post the recipe on the Kraft website. It is hard for me to believe that in this day of health consciousness, some marketing wise guy can't turn Postum back into a winner.

If you are taking a vote, I am one for bringing it back. It is also patriotic, what about that spin on things...."your grandparents drank it to support the country's war effort in the 40's....now you can support the country in its war efforts today by drinking Postum too..."

I just wanted to add my voice to those who miss Postum. I grew up the oldest of ten children and we drank it every Sunday with cheese sandwiches - a tradition both my parents had done growing up too! We all miss it terribly; Pero is O.K. but Postum is way better. Please bring back this wonderful drink that seems to be a tradition for more than one person!

Hey people,

There are more posts about Postum here:
http://kraft.liveworld.com/topic/Ask-Kraft-Kitchens/Postum/1800001436

And here:
http://kraft.liveworld.com/topic/Ask-The-Moderator/Information-About-Postum/1700001611

We want Postum on grocery store shelves. The only source at present seems to be eBay, and the prices are outrageous.

Kraft and/or RalCorp: Help. Do something. Please.

I was just reading through the posts and found someone who likes Pero. He must be a lost coffee drinker! I have had to go to Pero since Kraft has gotten rid of Postum and it is nothing like postum! It has a bitter taste to it where Postum is smooth and comforting! I really have to doctor up the Pero to be able to drink it. I don't drink Coffee or Tea cause I hate the taste of them and because they are so bad for you! Kraft I don't know if you even read these posts or if you just have them here for us to vent so you don't have to listen, but there are so many people who can't or won't drink coffee, tea, pero, and need this product! What a bad decision you have made! Why didn't you just raise the price alittle instead of getting rid of it? My Dad was right corp. these days are run by stupid people! Well Here's Your Sign!

I have been drinking Postum my whole life! It has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember! I was very upset when I found out you stopped making it! Postum is like a warm blanket you snuggle up with in front of the fire. I hope you can bring it back or at least make it accessable to buy online by the case for those of us who LOVE Postum! Is there anyway we could buy any you have left over?

:_| I spent a lot of time with my mom last summer in Illinois because she was dying from cancer. I forgot about Postum and was delighted to be re-introduced to it. It brought back so many childhood memories and I really like it a lot! Anyway, my mom died in Oct. and, in my mourning, I have been looking for Postum to buy. I just thought no one was carrying it. I asked several store personnel if they had it and they said they used to and didn't know why they quit carrying it. I decided to check it out on the Web and now find out that its been discontinued. I am so disappointed. I was going to give some to all of my family and I really had a craving for it to help with my mom's absence. So sad to see it go........... maybe it just needed some better marketing..... please bring it back.

I'm bummed they are no longer making it either. Boo the kraft for this one. I've been a very loyal drinker of postum for a lot of years. My parents were too and they are now boycotting kraft products for this as well.

Anyway, if you are no longer producing it, why don't you give up the recipe so someone else can make it?

I found postum online....for upwards of $70 a jar!

I can't believe they pulled this wonderful product....I'm love the stuff...drink 3 cups a day. I've tried other products...they are all nasty.

I recently lost 30 lbs and I attribute my success to postum. When I'd crave a treat between meals, I'd have a cup of postum with a little creamer...it curbed my appetite and tasted good too!

Please tell me that Kraft is just taking it off the market temporarily with plans to fresh, new name and remarket it again!!!

I'm so lost without my favorite beverage!

I have been going through Postum withdrawal for several days now. I searched for it in several places and nobody has it anymore.

I was so disappointed like all of you so I decided to try something else.

Today, I bought myself some Pero and I was expecting it to be not as good as Postum and I thought it would taste really bad.

In fact, I found that the opposite is true. Pero actually tastes like real coffee while Postum does not. Postum tastes like Postum.

Sorry guys. I was foolish to believe that the loss of postum was such a huge loss.

If you do not like Pero or if you prefer Postum to coffee then I am sorry.

Pero is for me. Next to try on my list is Cafix. I wonder if the beet roots make it any different. I will find out.

For so many years Postum has been a favorite of my wife of 30 years !

For so many years Postum has been the favorite of so many elderly who enjoy the product and look forward to it as we hear on these message boards ! People who have lived 100 years plus and younger people too , only to be told by a multi miliion dollar corporation, that they will no longer produce their product for them anymore !

I know that the decision made was probally due to profit but at the end of the day , what about THE LOYALTY TO YOUR CONSUMER , THE FOUNDATION TO WHY YOU EXIST !

I don't know who the President of Kraft Foods is , but if after reading the messages on this board , you are not touched and don't reverse your decision , I feel sorry for you !

I write this for my loving wife who is laying in bed and when she awakes I will tell her that Postum is no longer being produced and the people at Kraft just don't care !!

JUST THOUGHT OF THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Idea to Kraft : Change your decision , bring back Postum , then get some of the people you have heard from , to do a Postum commercial and they will ...... Kraft listened and Kraft brought back the product ..... all one happy family again , the way it should be !!! This would also help in the marketing of Postum and oh , what it would do to show that Kraft foods really cares and I can see a boost in profits somewhere in there too !!!

Thank you all for reading ...

I add my plea: bring Postum back! I like the idea another suggested - let a small company produce it. I can't drink coffee like I used to, and I need my cup of Postum. I learned about it through my wonderful dad. He's 105 now, and I'm sure he'd love a cup right now!
