As a confirmed bachelor, I have been cooking and entertaining for years, the way my Grandmother taught me. I found a better way, though. I use as many convenience products as I possibly can!! That way I have more time to spend with my guests playing fun games like quarters and spin the bottle! No one chops vegetables any more!

NYMom, isn't that the BEST?? I also like to buy the pre-cut celery and carrot sticks for my kids!! The pre-chopped onions are a Godsend, too!! Pretty soon we won't need knives any more!! There won't be anything to cut!

I'm going to check and see if they sell the bread bowls at my regular grocery store. You would be amazed at what some of the big supmarkets offer these days. Why, I can even buy my hard boiled eggs at the deli counter. No more cooking eggs for the kids before school. What a time saver!

I bet you need special untensils to stir the soup with while it cooks in the bread, too. Maybe THOSE are made of bread, also??? That would be fun!

Shriketastic,
I think she was trying to say that Panera MAKES the special bread you can make soup in.
Wish I could get my hands on a few. I hate scrubbing pots.

I think it would be hard to make the soup in the bread and not in a pot. Unless its special bread.

Hi Michele,
Thank you so much for the info. I think I will take your suggestion and buy the bread. Thanks again and have a great and happy Thanksgiving.

Hi cobosslady55, I'm not sure what kind of soup you ate at the faire but any type of soup can be served in a hollowed-out round sour dough bread loaf. Many bakeries sell the bread bowls. (You could even check with the bakery department in your local grocery store). In my area, Panera Bread sells bread bowls. I checked their website and they do have a recipe for their sour dough bread (although, I think I was save myself the trouble and buy the bread bowls). Here is the link to the recipe: http://http://www.panerabread.com/recipes/recipe.php?category=2&id=19
