When I emailed Kraft about it, they told me there was not enough demand for it. But, you know, in the times we live in people are trying to eat better and looking for healthy alternatives. If Postum was marketed as a "health food" product, it would probably sell very well. But I don't work for Kraft, so no one will listen to me.... waahh.

I just found out that Postum is no longer available!! Yikes. I would have bought up a big supply. I just figured it would always be available. I don't drink coffe, tea or hot chocolate because it make me sick to my stomach. I am at a loss as cold weather approaches. Any chance of bringing it back? Please. I know many people here in our community that drink Postum.

7 months have gone by since I learned that Postum was discontinued, and my supply is nearly gone (I have rationed it severely). A friend gave me her "coffee" flavored Postum, but I don't care much for it.
Like others, I am still waiting for some small company to pick up the rights to this fine product and put it back on the shelves. Please, if you are interested in bringing back our favorite breakfast (or anytime) drink, get your thoughts together and "post-em" on this forum. I don't want to have to go the trouble of making it myself, but I may be forced to. Soon.

I found this site that has a list of coffee substitutes he was comparing that may have some for you to try. Sorry to hear they stopped making something you like/need.

HELP! I am also very disappointed with Kraft that they discontinued making postum. I drink it because I have acid reflux and that is the closest thing I can find to coffee. I also have grown to love the taste. Could you please reconsider putting it back on the market. It sure sounds like there are alot of dissappointed customers out there. Now I wish I would have stock piled the stuff. I have tried alot of other things but none of them agree with me. Thanks for you time.

I'm Seventh Day adventist and grew up on this drink. Now, since I really like a hot drink at night and can't handle any caffeine, I look for Postum and it's gone. Is there anywhere to buy it? I emailed Kraft to ask and they completely ignored me..twice. Guess it's time to shop another brand

I would like to add my voice to the growing numbers who want Kraft to bring back Postum. Those of us who enjoy a hot non-coffee drink, the suggested alternatives are undrinkable. Kraft - you have done a lot of loyal consumers a great wrong when you dropped Postum. Please bring it back.

I am recovering from Prostate Cancer surgery and my doctor said I can no longer drink coffee or tea (even decaffeinated). He recommended Postum.
I used to drink it as a kid (my dad was Mormon). I have a half jar of it on the shelf that I bought some time in the past (it has a Sept 07 expire date). I'm almost out and now I find out Kraft Foods discontinued Postum.
My question is, there seems to be a small niche market for it. Is it possible that Kraft will let a smaller company take over the brand?
I guess I'm going to try to home recipes for it. The stuff recommended on the Kraft 800 number isn't anything like Postum.
I see it's selling for $25 a jar and up on eBay. If my withdrawal continues, I may just have to buy one.
It's a shame that Post, which feature healthy stuff like Grape Nuts and Postum, sold out the Kraft, which makes me think of Mac & Cheese (sorry, but that's your brand image in my mind).

Boycott Kraft products until they bring POSTUM back! I will not buy any of their products until they do so. Join me.

>I sldo midd Postum,
I so understand the sldo midd Postum crisis and I'm sorry that it has reached as far north as Canada. I've found that toasting my 2007 calender on a baking sheet and then whrring the toasted calender pages and Grape Nuts together in my Krups coffee grinder has made a very suitable substitute when mixed with hot malted milk.

Aaaaaaaak!!! After scouring all of the local grocery stores to replenish my supply of Postum I just discovered here on the 'net that it's been discontinued! If I had known that I would have bought a lifetime supply (up here in Canada it was still in stores last month). What am I going to drink now! Coffee makes me go AAAAAAAK!!!!

After Reading all the posts on this site I have come to the same realization that others have come to. Kraft doesn't really care about this issue... I was thinking too about Mac and cheese... I had to quit buying it because it started out really inexpensive and as soon as customers started buying it in droves they jacked up the price, reduced the amount of noodles in it and it is rarely on sale anymore in my area. I have not bought a box of that stuff in years... I buy generic now... and I guess I am going to be doing that a lot more in the future... Why buy and products from a company who says one thing and does another? I won't. I will be very careful to not buy any Kraft Products in the future. If they didn't want to produce Postum any longer they should have warned their customers and they should have found another company that would produce Postum and sold it to them... Why horde it if you think it is worthless... Someone on here said that only about 1-2 million people drink it... Well in my estimation if a jar is 5 dollars then 5-10 million dollars is nothing to sneeze at... I wish La Loma or Worthington Foods or Cedar Lake Foods would pick it up and produce Postum. Then I could order it or pick it up at the local ABC Bookstore...It would be like coming home for Postum.

Pero is NOT POSTUM... In my opinion, not even close.... that is not an alternative to those of us who have been drinking it all their lives... WE WANT OUR POSTUM BACK. Postum is a very unique drink that is healthy.... I drank it because it DIDN't tast like NASTY Coffee.
