I agree with the others. This was the best prepared salad dressing Kraft or any other food company ever made. Light and zesty, with many uses besides being a salad dressing. If I had known Kraft was going to cancel production, I would have cleaned the supermarket shelves of it. Perhaps the problem lies in it's name "Miracle". Many people do not like Miracle Whip, and might have associated it's flavor with that mayo substitute. Whatever the reason, this was a bad decision by the marketingpeople atKraft.

Kraft Miracle French was our families absolute favorite salad dressing and marinate. We long for it and still talk of it often. We keep watching and hoping that it will reappear on store shelves. We have tried many times to concoct a similar home version of it in our kitchen but nothing quite makes it. We want our Kraft Miracle French back. For the time being though, we will try one of these other recipes. Thanks for sharing them.

Thanks for the recipe Larry. I will try it soon and let you know what I think, if I can find my way back to this little conversation area, that is.

I grew up on Kraft Miracle French, and like others hate that it is not available. However, I have developed my own version that my family thinks is better. In fact, my niece who is now 27 will only serve this one, and it is simple. I make a larger batch in a cleaned out, empty Mayonnaise jar or something similar.
3 packets of Good Seasons ITALIAN. Follow the directions in a LARGE jar. When you have everything mixed, add about 1/3 cup ketchup and about 4 TBSP sugar. SHAKE or WHISK very well to blend.
Allow to chill before using. This will keep for a long period in the refrigerator. It is the closest I have found to Kraft Miracle French. I just decided to try some different things and this worked. It is great on salad. I have substituted TOMATOE PASTE ( using less ) for the ketchup, but I have found the ketchup to be better. And, Heinz ketchup seems to be best.
If anyone tries this, email me and let me know what you think.
Larry, Naples, Florida

Here's a note of thanks to whomever suggested trying the "Teresa's Sun Dried Tomato Vinegarette" - it's very close to the original Miracle French Dressing.
I heard from the Kraft Kitchen re this. They do not share recipes for discontinued items unfortunately.

I just found this in another section of the message boards:
Re: Miracle French Dressing Posted: Apr 26, 2007 8:46 PM > Hi Jeniamt, > I have my colleagues in the Kraft Kitchens working on > your request. I let you know what they find out.
I think you younger cooks have had many wonderful dressings to choose from. I love many of the new dressings - but this is a favorite from my childhood and was a staple in my kitchen until a decade or so ago. It's just really yummy!
I hope the Kraft Kitchen responds.
I've tried about 30 recipes I thought might be close.... no luck yet.

Soooo, what about thinning the Catalina with EVOO? Would that be close to whatever this dressing is y'all are posting about? I wouldn't know, I've never even heard of it. Just wondering...

haha! nope SG - there is no cream in Miracle French. It's thin and oily and very tasty.
Miracle French dressing was marketed nationwide until about 10 years ago. It was dark red-orange, about 1/3 or so oil and tomato/paprika based. Sweet and piquant.
Catalina is more sweet (and thick) and many of the oil based tomato vinagarettes available are just flavored differently.

Can you mix the reguluar French with Miracle Whip.
French + Miracle whip = Miracle French

What was the difference between this and regular Kraft French? Was there something special in it? Was it thick and red or was it completely different? Just curious!! Barb

to vicgeiger - I was informed by Kraft about 10 years ago (response to a written inquiry) that they would not share the recipe.
Let's keep our inquiry alive! We want Miracle French!
Nice to see I'm not alone.

I too would love to have that recipe or even better, that you would make it again. I miss it terribly and can't seem to replicate it in my kitchen.
It was my very favorite and would be again!
Any response Kraft? thank you.

Many years ago you offered Kraft Miracle French Dressing, which I believe is no longer available. Can you advise the recipe? Thanks.
