My family loves to eat Catalina dressing on our Taco Salad. The new dressing is just awful!!! It sure does spoil the taco salad!!! Please - BRING BACK THE OLD CATALINA!

So you're getting "mixed" opinions about ditching the old, proven Catilina Dressing? I don't believe it for a second. My search on the internet turned up not ONE good comment.
We bought the "New Catalina" and immediately, after the first bite of salad, threw it out... the whole bottle. Are you all Crazy? Maybe your "taster" retired and you haven't been able to find a replacement
I can give you "tuns" of good logic to keep the old Catalina, but you're probably not listing anyway. Have you ever heard "if it aint broke don't fix it"?

It's been close to a year now since I made my first complaint, and I decided to stop in to see whether they'd rescinded this horrible, horrible change to a great salad dressing. It's also very troubling that they are so completely unresponsive to consumer complaints. Amazon.com has the new Catalina rated one star.

wow. when exactly did it change for the bad? caus a few weeks ago i got a bottle of it and used it in a rice recipe. I tasted really good. Then I found all these complaints about it. I tasted some at a friends house, and it tasted totally different! uh! it was really bad. Are there any ore dressing that are bad?
Like:
Sun dried tomatoes Greek Red wine vinagrett
Theese are (were?) my favorites. Does anyone know if the have changed?

I was searching the Internet for the old Kraft recipe for Mexican Salad with Kraft Catalina dressing. I don't know what happened but couldn't find it anywhere. So I made the salad the best I could remember, and put the Kraft Catalina Dressing on it. It was my first and last bottle of the new improved Catalina dressing. I had two girl friends over for lunch, and when I tasted the salad it tasted like vomit. Since my friends felt the same was, I just ended up taking them out to lunch. I can't get rid of that awful taste in my mouth and was hoping I wasn't going to get poisoned. I was looking for a place to complain to Kraft and found this site. Jeez, what was their reasoning in changing the dressing to something so awful. I have a bottle of their Thousand Island which I always liked. I wonder if that changed also. I'm almost afraid to find out.

Normally I would not sign up for forum like this. Hey, I'm a 60 year old guy. But my wife and I would like to express our sincere distress with the New Catalina Dressing formula. Like many others here we assumed that the dressing on our "Mexican salad" (a staple in our house for 40 years) had spoiled and threw it out. It really did taste nasty. Checked the date and discovered the "NEW" label. Upon contacting Kraft we were told that opinions were divided on the new formula and were sent a coupon. Tried another bottle but it was still nasty. Perhaps this taste appeals to some. However, in all the time since, I have yet to find anyone who will even eat or cook with the new dressing. At picnics and neighborhood gatherings this awful public relations blunder has become a topic of conversation. Folks, I think you blew it.

I found another reasonable substitute - America*s Choice California French, marketed by A&P and SuperFoodmart. I only hope that it isn't bottled by Kraft, and then also subject to change....
Add this msg to the call to remember "New" Coke, and bring back a Classic Catalina!

Geez the new Catalina flavor is GROSS. I threw out mine. KRAFT - PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!!!! The original flavor (or whatever iteration the previous flavor was) was by far my FAVORITE dressing ever.
One bit of silver lining...I just found STATER BROS CATALINA and it tastes EXACTLY like the old Catalina!!! It's sooo good to taste it again! Everyone go buy it!!!

My only message is: BOYCOTT KRAFT! That's what we're doing in our house. I've been eating Catalina dressing forever. I'm 59 years old and I don't like to have to make changes this far into the game. But I'm gonna try Wishbone and the Olde Cape Cod Honey French mentioned in one of the responses here. I'm also going through my cupboards and tossing everything made by Kraft. You don't make changes like this. The stuff is rancid and we aren't going to buy it again.

The new Catalina does taste spoiled. It's horrible. Hopefully the original will return one day.
