Salads are a great lunch idea. Start with your basic greens and then switch it up by adding leftover chicken or ham, different salad dressings and a variety of different veggies. A roll or breadstick on the side and maybe a different piece of fresh fruit everyday to make it different.

Just thought of another favorite:
Ham roll ups
Take a slice of ham, spread some chives cream cheese on it, add a dill pickle spear to the center and roll it up. Use a toothpick to keep it in place.

Pigs in a blanket (little smokies wrapped in crescent rolls)

fruit salad

My girls also like pudding cups, fruit cups, beanie weinies, apples and caramel, grapes, carrots and ranch dip(celery is good ,too). They also like chicken wraps (tortilla, with a chicken finger, shredded cheese, lettuce, and either ranch, BBQ, or asian dressing). Jello is another option. Cold pizza, grilled chicken sand. Maybe we've helped a little. We all get in a rut and need some fresh ideas!:-x

Peanut allergies are very serious! Nothing to be taken lightly.

There are hundreds of things you can make that don't have nuts in them.

Just use your imagination!

You are lucky that your kids aren't allergic to gluten or something more difficult to manage.

Great ideas, I am searching for lunch ideas as well. My daughter doesn't have the allergies, just very picky. She doesn't like many "lunch" items. Right now the only things she can think of that she may eat is a protein bar, granola bar and a drink. I know that is not going to be enough "food". She will also get tired of it fast. I like the idea of the salsa (I make quick and simple salsa that she will eat) and cream cheese, what size package of cream cheese?

Simply Salsa:
one medium onion - chopped
one 15 oz can of diced tomatoes
two cloves garlic - crushed
juice of a half of lime
two tbsp of chopped cilantro (optional)
1 tbsp Southwest Chipotle seasoning (we like more)

That's it! Chop and mix all together and it's ready.

There is a product out that you can buy at Super Wal-Mart called Sun Butter. It is made from Sun flower seeds and from what I have heard from a friend that is allergic to peanuts, this stuff is amazing. She said it tastes like peanut butter, but without the allergic reaction.

I understand where you are coming from. My daughter is allergic to nuts, as well as most other foods.

We love chicken salad, and we love to put things on tortillas. A favorite of my older girls is to take a pkg of cream cheese and a 1/3 cup of salsa and mix together and spread on a tortilla. You can add olives if you like.

Hello hello...
Im sure that is frustrating for her!! I have a couple of suggestions maybe one might be what she's looking for.

I make alot of these items for quick dinners and they are perfect to take the next day for an on the go lunch.

Pasta salad with grilled chix
Green salads with dressing on the side
soups/pasta/rice dishes in a small thermal cup
Instead of just lunchmeat sandwiches: try
Tortilla rollups with chicken salad or deli meat
Mini Sub sandwiches
Tortilla roll up with cheese, beans, rice and salsa
A fruit salad with chicken

Hopefully this might give you a starting point...If I think of more Ill add them!

I have a daughter who is allergic to nuts and apples and since most lunches are made with peanut butter and since she gets sick of lunchmeat sandwhiches and soy nut butter, i need new/ REALLY FRESH ideas? Her time to eat is short, maybe 15 minutes at school. She just went into high school and we are trying to look for new ideas and buy lunch WAY less than last year. She doesnt like raisins or the like. HELP!!
